The great thing about swimming is, that it is for everybody. For people recovering from an accident, pregnant woman, seniors or handicapped.
Swimming is one of the best ways to practice and do not burden any knuckles and ligaments and as a bonus has great effects on the individual’s psyche.
• Unlike other sports, while swimming, you practice evenly the whole body, thus all muscle groups.
• Swimming, being an aerobic sport, is the ideal choice for burning excess fat. Water has a bigger resistor than air, therefore you burn up to five times more energy than other sports. However, it is better to swim in warmer water, because in the cold water, the body tends to store fat rather than burn.
• With regularity and the right technique (exhaling into water), swimming cleanses your lungs and increases their capacity.
• It has beneficial effects on the psyche and the brain. It calms the mind and helps to eliminate stress. It increases the amount of oxygen in the brain, which is reflected by improving memory, attention or the ability to learn new things.
To achieve desired effects, you should swim approximately 3 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes. However, it is important to know the right swimming style to get the right effects. Before starting to swim, consider chatting with a swimming instructor or do some research.
